Parking Lot / Driveway / Ramps / Sidewalk / Entrances

OVERVIEW

The Schultz-Holmes District Library is currently accepting bids from qualified contractors for driveway, parking lot, sidewalk, and entrance work for the Schultz-Holmes District Library.

Project Scope

Please specify all or individual parts of the project for which you are providing quotes:

  1. Approaches, entrance and exit, into driveways to be concrete. Shall be at least 5–6 inches thick.
  2. Parking lot drain aprons concrete with slopes to accommodate proper drainage from finished parking lot.
  3. Concrete Pad for dumpster: Southeast corner of parking lot.  (5-6 inches thick)
  4. Driveway structure can be either concrete (5-6 inches thick) or asphalt (two courses at least 3” with compacted gravel base of 6”)
  5. The parking lot can be either concrete (5-6 inches thick) or asphalt (two courses at least 3” with compacted gravel base of 6”) and adding two parking spaces at the back of the library on the Northeast side near the building.
  6. Ramps, sidewalks, entrances: repair or replace with concrete. As code requires.
  7. Line stripes or painting: as specified to current configuration.

SPECIFICATIONS

Asphalt and concrete must withstand all Michigan seasonal weather conditions. Parking lots must drain to storm drains that are installed. All work needs to be coordinated with other contractors as needed, as well as ensuring minimal disturbance to the library operation during construction.

 Project Timeline

Sealed Bids due April 10, 2026, Noon.

Work Period: April 11, 2026, to June 5, 2026

Completion: June 10, 2026

Quote Requirements

Interested contractors should provide the following:

1)      Detailed breakdown for materials, labor, equipment and site work. Please specify Project Scope number: (example Project Scope 1 ,2, 3, and 6 concrete work ) ( example 2: All of project).  

2)      Approach and methodology for asphalt and/or concrete removal and delivery and placement

3)      Proposed schedule for completion.

4)      References for similar projects.

Sealed bids should be submitted by 12:00PM on April 10, 2026, to:

Evaluation Criteria

Quotes will be evaluated based on:

1)      Cost

2)      Experience and references

3)      Proposed methodology of removal and delivery.

4)      Ability to meet project timeline

Additional Notes

All work must comply with applicable Michigan codes and regulations.

The contractor is responsible for site cleanup.

The library reserves the right to accept the lowest responsible quote. Bid opening and selection to occur at library April 10, 2026 at 4:00PM .

Attention: If the library and church next door having their parking lots and driveway work done at the same time would help with pricing, Light of Christ Church next door at 309 S.
